NOW YOGA

Sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand and decide that "enough is enough".

How much longer will you tolerate not having your human needs met?

I'm not talking about physical needs (for most reading this). Instead I'm referring to our need for mental and emotional well-being - inner peace, love, joy, self-expression, connection, freedom, autonomy, security, harmony...

The very first line of the foundational text of The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali states: "Now Yoga". That's exactly the line in the sand we're talking about. His words dating back as far as 500 BC (according to some sources) can perhaps today be colloquially paraphrased to say:

"Ok, so... you've tried academic study, a high-flying career, a big house and a fancy sports car. You've tried a romantic relationship, junk food and retail therapy. And you've tried alcohol, sex, drugs and rock 'n roll... but none of these have brought you lasting fulfillment.

Could it be that we're looking in the wrong places? Out there, instead of in here?

The non-dual sage Ramana Maharshi's advice is "Go back the way you came". The well-known Christian mystic, St Francis of Assisi, shares the sentiment: "What you are looking for is what is looking."

Deep inside each of us is where the magic happens. Our own unique light is waiting to be shared with the world and this is precisely what the yogic system (not just the poses) helps us to reveal.

Are you ready to draw the line, to claim back your life and be who you truly are?

Are you ready to shine your light?

Now Yoga.
