PAY IT FORWARD

As an active board member of Revolutionary Yoga, I oversee all yoga-related activities of this registered non-profit company whose mission is "building conscious communities".

Aside from teaching yoga, a major part of our operation is serving meals to 7000 people and 300 animals through our Free Food Kitchens and Divine Dog Kitchens across 7 vulnerable communities in Cape Town. Two of these locations are already harvesting vegetables from their own community gardens sponsored by Revolutionary Yoga.

Yoga is also taught by Revolutionary Yoga in-person on Wednesdays 6:30pm and on Saturdays 10am at the Catholic Welfare Development Centre in Athlone as well as online on Revolutionary Yoga's Facebook page, on Tuesdays 6pm live with Roseline and Sundays with Deidre, uploaded by 10am.

A key project is a collaboration with Health Warriors NPO and the coordination of a team of teachers who share the joys of yoga in Lavender Hill, Hazeldean and Smallville (Philippi).

This is the second inspired partnership between Revolutionary Yoga and Health Warriors. These humanitarian organizations were first brought together by a venture initiated by Spanish-based Yoga Without Borders. Together we offered a scholarship-based 200-hour Ashtanga/Vinyasa flow teacher training course to 24 previously disadvantaged students in Langa, Cape Town, in January 2020 (certified by Sampoorna Yoga, India).
